Taxes are taken out first from your paycheck. Then when you buy something you are taxed by state, county, and federal sales taxes. Why the three different taxes shouldn't their just be one? I'm a 40 female with a 17mo baby... this started 4 years ago with a scratched cornea... intermittent waking with burning, but now it's BOTH eyes, severe burning/gravelly feeling in eyes waking me several times every night. I've been using saline and similisan dry eye or allergy eye relief along with homeopathic histamine...nothing seems to be helping and it's getting worse. Not so much a problem during the day, just when I'm sleeping. I'm guessing it's allergies OR dry eye, but I'm not sure anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have no insurance so I can't just go from dr. to dr. until this is resolved. I would prefer not to use prescription drugs, anyway, if possible. I do most of my daughter's chores. My husband helps out as much as he can but he's just a big goofball when it comes to things like that, he just doesn't have what it takes. Peaches I canned are browning. I followed the directions... what happened?

I have frozen peaches before and I have canned tomatoes for many years. This year I canned peaches (about 3 months ago). I used a medium syrup and followed the directions completely. I looked at all my jars and they seem to be turning slightly brownish. I opened a jar and there is an odd smell, sort of like tea. The peaches at the bottom of the jars (totally immersed in syrup) are a normal color. I am uming the peaches are going bad, correct? Any ideas why? Do the peaches need to be totally immersed in syrup in order not to spoil? I thought that the water bath cooking and proper sealing would take care of that.

Hi there ! This summer I plan on undergoing a project with my aunt and her 14 y/o ex-rodeo-was-once-severely-beaten-and-ab… quarter horse. Her friesians just learned to ride in the past couple months, and we plan on being riding buddies this summer. Problem is, the QH is very ground aggressive. She's owned him for 7 years and has always been so. He's perfect to ride, turns on a dime and is faster than any horse I know, but you have to be rough as hell with him on the ground, or he will trample/kick/bite you. I've been bitten several times. She said she once worked him in the round pen, that didn't do anything but rile him up even more. He won't let anyone touch him and get away with it. It's strange to me, because he gets a lot of confidence from me when i'm riding him, but is opposite on the ground. To control him I have to put the chain part of the lead line on his nose when he's wearing his halter, otherwise he'll bite or cow kick me. Why Baby has a Gas problem?

My son also had this problem and finally at his check-up the pediatrician asked me if a ate/drank a lot of dairy. Dairy is my favorite thing! I ate and drank it all day every day. How little sleep can I get and still function this month ?

Graduate my technical college program in mid may and this is what I still need to do. 96 hours unpaid clinical at a hospital pharmacy (starting today), p with C or better in all my 16 credits of cles (some grades have slipped a little so I can't miss anymore in order to p), work at least 25 hours a week at my job as well as extra spontaneous, when needed, work for my dads business, and try to keep the little social life I have. My current schedule is M 12-1 cl and 2-10 clinical with minimum 2 hours of travel. Homework is due for that cl on Monday so I do it before cl normally. TUE class 9-1 and clinical 2-10 plus 2 hours minimum travel. Wed class 9-7 with a 3 hour break in there (mostly used for homework). Thur is class 9-11 and work either 12-8 or 2-10 with 2 hour minimum travel. Friday-Sunday is work (random shift). Problem is that if I try to get 6-8 hours of sleep a night, I don't have time to do all my homework. I want to know is how little sleep will I need to get buy. It's only till graduation that I need to do this, and I do have access to dextroamphetamines and mixed salts (adderall) if needed, but that's a last resort

Chocolate is toxic to dogs, I use Charlee Bears for training. It is one hour for each month of age with puppies, so a two-month-old puppy can only be alone/hold its potty for two hours at the most. Put the crate by the bed, leave a night light on so he can see you and be reured. Don't engage him when he cries, it is normal for him to protest. Play a soothing cd or radio until he sleeps. When you leave make sure he has toys, bones, carrots for teething, some people use an old shirt with your scent, and leave a radio on too so he doesn't think you abandoned him. Maybe a dog walker, pet sitter, friend, family, neighbor can help while the puppy is first little, or you could come home during breaks and lunches and take him potty. Labs are tricky, the more they run and walk, the more energy they seem to get. Have some training time, and then some play time so you don't overwhelm him while he is first little. You have to teach them to play, they don't know games automatically, so hang in there. Some things just come with time. Come, sit, stay, sometimes gets better at 11-weeks-old. I practice leashes at this age by draping a leash on him and calling him to me, but I don't clip a leash on a collar until 3-months-old. I practice leashes in the yard before I graduate them to walking in the street. There are lots of things that scare puppies, so it is easier to correct things in the yard when you don't have to worry about cars. He will get better with leashes around 4 to 5-months-old. Well for your age range I'd say this is very well written. Just always be careful to never mispell the names of your characters. At the end it mentions Seph when I'm pretty sure you speak of Steph. Sometimes authors chose to use similiar names so that might confuse a reader to think it was a different speaker. Make sure when using speech to have it clearly defined who is speaking and to who. Your spelling might need a slight bit of work. Don't limit your vocuabulary! Use a thesaurus :) The sentence structure seems to be well done. I know this is just an excerpt so make sure to clearly define the characters later on since they need it a little. Other than that, fantastic work. I hope you don't think I was harsh, I'm simply used to grading English :P

What's my orchid plant doing now?

I bought an orchid plant in August, all flowered out and beautiful. After the pedals died and fell off I cut the stalk back half way like I'd read somewhere to do. I'd also read that orchids bloom once a year at the same time each year, but about a couple of months ago this plant started shooting out a new stalk which has grown about 12 inches long and sprouted 5 flower bulbs on it. A few days ago one of the new bulbs dried out and is dying and about to fall off. The rest still look healthy but I'm getting concerned now because of this. Ok, so out of no where I'm having connection issues. I've got a Belkin-G router, but can't get into its settings because I forgot what a friend of mine renamed it. (ex. it's no longer 192.168.1). Anyway, my macbook won't connect at all. PC laptop will connect, but I am continually having to run diagnostics to maintain the connection. However, the XBOX 360 which is hard connected is connecting fine. Tivo which has a wireless connection is connection is connecting perfectly. Any ideas on how to go about fixing this? Ran diagnostic on macbook and it's asking for a pword for the router. Router is not pword protected.

Banjo and guitar aren't the same -- the strings are tuned differently, the chord shapes are different, the right hand picking is different -- but if you already play guitar, you already understand chords and picking and music theory and such, so it will be easier for you to learn banjo than if you had NO previous fretted string instrument background.

Now when you go to a Dr. you are probable going to walk out of there with some kind of prescription as the remedy for your problem. Currently I have had my liver disease start to turn into Cirrhosis. I have been in contact with a practicioneer of holistic medicine. He claims if I have 5 % of my liver left with the proper herbs I can lead a relatively long life. Truth is it is my understanding that if dignoised with almost any ailment it can be treated with the right combination of herbs. Naturally, one needs to be checked with E-Rays, blood work, Ultra sound, MRI, etc., etc. Once a problem has been found and naturally the sooner the better, it can almost surly be healed with herbs instead of pharimical medication which chemicals which are very toxic to the liver. Also, in todays world you are always hearing of some new pharmicutial medication, followed with a warning that that medication can cause a carnicopial of side effects. Almost everyone will state do not take if you have a bad liver. I've one question, has anyone ever heard of treating liver disease as bad as cirrhosis, with herbs or a combination thereof? get a metric set of sockets, wrenchs, and a few types of pliers. also a good screwdriver set. snap on tools are the most expensive. you can get cheaper tools with the same lifetime warranty. i started with a standard set of tools and a metric set. you can never have enough tools though. get a tool box or you will lose track of them.

I plan to buya dslr camera but its main uses will be for sports and portrait photography. From the reviews I've read, I like the image stabilization of pentax which is built into the system, unlike nikon where you have to purchase an expensive VR labelled lens for image stabilization. However, I also discovered that pentax mainly uses PRIME lenses which do not have a high zoom functionality. I need a high zoom range because when I watch badminton tournaments, I am so far from where the action is and I will be needing zoom lenses. Meal Ideas!?

I prepare a full Sunday meal every week for my family and give much of the leftovers to my sick grandmother. It has been going well and so far I have made (sucessfully) meatloaf, baked ziti, greek chicken, aglio e olio, cajun skillet/red beans and sausage, sweet potatoe pie, kourambiedes (greek powder cookies), and herb roasted chicken, but I am running out of ideas. Care to offer some cake-baking tips?

Honestly.I make every cake from a box and no one has ever noticed. I change up the recipe a little. i use milk instead of water and I use er or cream cheese instead of oil. For chocolate cakes I add cocoa powder of melted chocolate. For white cakes I only use the egg white cause it makes the cake brilliantly white instead of a little yellow. I add a teaspoon of baking powder to make the cake a little more fluffy. Bake it at 325 instead of 350. It makes the cake rise more. For chocolate cakes i add oil and er so the will be extra moist. When the cake comes out of the oven i cover the pan with a layer of saran wrap, so it stays moist while cooling. there are so may things I do wrong or that are not supposed to be done, but I have never had a bad cake and I have alot of repeat customers. I even did a wedding cake from a box cake and everyone loved it. It is so inexpensive a box cake costs $.99 and a box of cake flour is $3.99 and you only get 2 cakes out of it. A 5 pound bag of sugar costs $3.00. It saves you a lot of money. just take your time making it use those substitutions and no one will ever know.

HELP!!! is my computer broken?!?!?

Moisture on basement walls?

I have a 3-year-old home with an unfinished basement. We have four foot cement walls with four foot kneewalls insulated with R20 batted insulation. We did have this vapour barriered but in September 2008 we had to remove the insulation and vapour barrier due to extermination. We did not replace the vapour barrier. We do have a 12-hour wood stove for our main source of heat, which is loacated in the basement. Our home is approximately 1200 square feet on both the main and basement. We have a Venmar Constructo 1.0 (air exchanger) that was installed three years ago. Just recently we noticed that our walls in the basement are always damp with moisture. In many places there is water dripping/running down over the walls behind the insulation. What would be the cause of this? Any suggestions would be helpful. On the outside walls of our cement walls, we have styrofoam insulation. On the remainder of our home we have Tyvec and vinyl siding. We live in Atlantic Canada so weather wise, it's typically 15 - 25 degrees celsius summertime and anywhere from 0 to -15 degrees celsuis wintertime. Please offer any advice or suggestions on what could possibly be causing this dampness in our basement.
