What are some songs that sound similar?

Fiona Apple on the Pleasantville soundtrack sings a song called "Please Send Me Someone To Love". It's got a smooth blues/jazz sound that I really dig. I want to hear more music like this. Kelly Clarkson's "The Trouble With Love" also comes to mind, but this certainly doesn't have to be limited to female singers. Suggestions please..?
