Cost of living in the Dom Rep?

I suppose you are from the USA. So for the food you must think that the D.R. is 30% more expensive (good food). Lodging is cheaper in some areas. Cars are very expensive over here, due to fact that they overcharge when imported.(example a second hand car with value of 10.000 us cost over here about 18.000 us)
